I said that I would do a review on Mbano Manor Hotel because they deserved one, but it’s been hard to write because there is so much that I want to say and this may turn out to be too long a post. So I’m trying to compress my thoughts so that it isn’t too much of a hassle to read. I have decided to do it in the form of “Five things I absolutely loved about Mbano” format. So here goes:
1. The personalized service
2. Rooms
3. The Bathroom (it deserves special mention)
4. Food and Drinks
5. The People
1. The Personalized Service
The first thing that caught my eye when I was shown into my room was a personal welcome note from the GM of the Hotel. I have been to other hotels where they do these welcome notes but they are always addressed to the guest and are generic. The fact that this one was addressed to me personally made me feel that much special. It’s those seemingly “little things” but it made a world of difference for me.
2. The Rooms
All I can say about the rooms is just WOW !!! The king size bed was sooo comfortable and big and the linen extra clean πŸ‘Œ. Then there is the lounger, one of my favorite places to chill and relax. I loved that the rooms had an array of teas and coffees, it also had an espresso maker plus an ice maker too. The room also included the standard kettle and bar fridge. The rooms also have a writing table, and two couches and a small table as well. Then there is the dressing room, with a full length mirror – who doesn’t love a full length mirror.
3. The Bathroom 😍😍😍
This bathroom deserves special mention because hello, it was pretty special. The his and hers basins, the standalone tub 😍😍😍😍 which is fantastic and finally that shower. I love taking showers, and this one had a rain shower head and the water pressure was just perfect. I remember Danai and I called it delicious 🀣🀣🀣, that’s how good it was. So yes, this bathroom deserves special mention.
4. The Food and Drinks
What I loved about their food was that it was always freshly prepared and it was delicious, so what’s not to love? But I also loved the fact that they changed their menu daily so it was always a treat to see what they would serve you on any given day. I normally skip the starters and head straight to the main course but I’m glad I didn’t do that this time around because I managed to eat everything and appreciate it. The food was cooked to perfection and the dessert to die for. The breakfast was also really good. I opted for an American breakfast cause I wanted to try everything, lol. Another thing, their welcome mocktails were great and their Malawi Shandy is among the best I have had.
5. The People
Last but not least, this review would not be complete without the people of Mbano. Team MMH are the greatest people. Their service is efficient. They are welcoming and you leave their hotel feeling like you have made friends for life. From Lungile who welcomed us with a smile, to Sam (πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘) and Jerry who served us like we were royalty, being attentive without hovering, to the chefs who would check on us during the course of the meal to find out if we were enjoying the food, and to Ignatius the general manager who was there asking if we needed anything every step of the way, I appreciated the way they served. They anticipated our needs and ensured our stay was memorable. Kudos to you.
