Enjoyable Stay  - The Mbanor Manor is a very nice lodge located in a suburb of Victoria Falls. I had assumed that it was in an isolated area but it’s actually in... read more an unusual neighborhood that is filled with boutique inns and lodges.

The lodge is 2-3 miles from the Falls and most restaurants which is somewhat inconvenient. They offer a free shuttle during the day which helps a lot. At night they can arrange taxis for you but the costs are double the local rates (one way trip @ $20 vs. $10).

The grounds are well maintained and the main buildings are very nice. There’s an outdoor pool with nice lounge chairs but we didn’t use it.

Our deluxe villa/suite was very nice. It was the size of a junior suite with a large bathroom and a nice porch. The mini-bar was stocked with complimentary beer and soft drinks. They weren’t very cold though as the mini-bar didn’t work well.

WiFi worked was very good. TV had lots of channels but was difficult to use - confusing guide and two remotes, one for volume and one for channels.

The place was pretty empty as we didn’t see any other guests during our two days here. This didn’t affect service and the restaurant, though. Both were excellent.

The Mbanor Manor is a high quality lodge although a bit out of the way.

Lastly I will add, a part of the stay that wasn’t heavily advertised is how exceptional the food is. The onsite chef prepared one of the best chicken burgers I’ve ever had. Couple that with the traditional oxtail stew and it’s hard to recommend leaving the hotel for a meal (with the exception of the boma and dinner cruise).

It’s a limited menu so after day 4 got a bit “samey” but consistently high quality. The room was of very high spec with perfect finishes. Everything worked and highly convenient. Room was an excellent size with a substantial outside seating area. Staff were very friendly whether it was reception, restaurant, housekeeping, etc. You will need a car to get around once you leave the property and Victoria Falls is 10-15 minutes. Same to the airport.

Mbano popped up on my desktop search so I dropped in on them. Exclusive! Serenity! Wilderness! Birds and crickets and lovely nature sounds! This is the best I have ever seen in lodges. Faith was kind enough to show me around the place and tell me about the spa coming up! Pricey yes but how many lives have you got?

The staff was so attentive, we felt like we were the only guests there even though it was fully booked. Mbano Manor had a very helpful and personable driver pick us up at the airport. During our stay, Hellena and JB arranged for our transportation to and from all the activities we engaged in as well as helped us book a number of activities and answered any questions we had during our entire stay.
The food and service were stellar. The chef provided an excellent menu of delicious selections for each meal and was very attentive to any special requests. Ruvimbo served us High Tea, which I highly recommend. It was delicious, with a variety of treats and drinks to meet any taste. Ruvimbo also provided incredible service and was very informative as this was our first visit to Zimbabwe.
Everyone was so warm and welcoming during our entire stay, including our server at breakfast - Praise - and the bag porter Trymore. I don’t remember everyone’s names, but there was not one person that failed to make our trip special.
If you plan to stay here, make sure you stay long enough. We were only there two nights and wished we could have stayed much longer.
