Letter One – Thank you from the Mbano Manor Hotel Team
Dear Chef Carla,
We are delighted that you “Booked that Trip” & came across the world to Victoria Falls, gracing our Forest Villa!
To celebrate your unwavering support, we hosted a special Mabiko nanaTete (Meal with the Sisters) luncheon – as our way of welcoming and honouring a fellow Sister to Mbano.
We also bestowed you with a special African name – Zanele – to signify that you are now home and one of us.
Your positive energy is infectious. You danced with us, cooked with our staff, engaged with local artists and business women. And, you tasted our delicious local cuisine!
We thank you for celebrating black female excellence & making Mbano Manor Hotel by Mantis, a part of your African journey. A true heartfelt honour

Letter Three – Thank you from the Mbano Kitchen
Dear Chef Carla,
We have watched and followed you “cook with love” and “live with joy”. Your Cookbooks inspire us to create food from the heart. When you came recently to Mbano Manor hotel, we watched in awe as you put on your apron and, with your technical team, shared tips and words of cuisine wisdom, right inside our kitchen!! What an honour and privilege!
In African tradition, we celebrated your visit with food, song, art and dance. The “Mabiko nanaTete Luncheon” (meal with the Sisters) was our way of saying Welcome and Thank You.
Cooking alongside several community women, our kitchen team presented a traditional menu. From Matemba, Zviyo, Mazondo to Umxhanxha . We took you to our fresh herb garden brimming with celery, rosemary Tsunga and more!
Mbano is now your home & our kitchen and team are richer from your warm and infectious presence.
Oh, and we decided to frame the special Carla Hall knife that you gave us – a lasting reminder!
See you soon, again, our Dear Sister Carla Zanele Hall!
